Taken on my Nikon FM with 28mm lens on Kodak Colorplus 200 ISO film at f8 1/125th sec, this is the Lighthouse at Roath Park lake that stands as a monument to Scott’s fateful voyage to the Antarctic. Yes a lake several miles from the coast is an odd place for a memorial, there’s another one down on the barrage that keeps Cardiff Bay from the open sea as well.
I’ve already posted a shot of this in monochrome, taken with the same camera previously so thought a colour version might make a nice comparison. The black & white version can be found here.
Both shot’s are taken from pretty much the same position, although I really like monochrome film I think I prefer the washed out look in this colour shot. I like the reflection of the lighthouse and also the slight pinkish look to the water from the sun setting out of shot, just a shame the sky is blown out as it had a definite pink hue at the time.
