Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; Four

Streets of Cardiff all on Olympus OM-D EM-5 with 17mm lens.

Chilli.jpg I liked this kid’s hoodie, not something I would wear but the huge skull with sparkling bits all over it looked different, the way the hood falls over his shoulder’s makes it look like he’s watching us with eyes on his back also. I also like that almost out of shot on the left the stall owner is staring right at us and framed by the wreaths all around him. ISO 400, f5.6, 1/25th sec.

Skate.jpg I think there’s something very “standing on the precipice” about this photo, the skater waiting for the guy on the bicycle to ride up the hill so he can ride down. Or is he simply building up the courage to hurl himself down the hill? It is actually quite a bit steeper than it looks. ISO 400, f5.6, 1/200th sec.

Column A.jpg My favourite part of this image is the sense of scale, the woman looking positively minute in comparison to the huge column she is sat at the bottom of. ISO 400, f5.6, 1/160th sec.
