Another day, another post in the Street Photography Cardiff Series, all taken on Olympus OM-1 with 50mm lens on Fomapan Classic 100 film.
Starting off with my favourite image from the roll of film this was taken on; Smoking Girl.
F8, 1/250th sec. This is personally one of my favourite photo’s I have taken in this genre, I think everything about it works, the reflections in the shop window, the shadows and light, the way the girl stands out as if a spotlight is on her, the cigarette, the fact she is looking directly at us, even the person existing the image on the far left I think works. I’m very pleased with myself on this one, but please let me know what you think.
F8, 1/125th sec. I like how the light paving slabs catching the light have given the coffee cart and the two people stood next to it the appearance of standing on top of the image rather than in it, almost as if they’ve been grafted on.
F8, 1/125th sec. I think we all know by now how much I enjoy photographing buskers and street musicians/performers, they always look like interesting characters and this guy is no different.
F5.6, 1/125th sec. Buskers again but this time a little different than normal, I don’t know if it’s me but I can’t remember the last time I saw impromptu hip hop/beat-boxing in the street. I can’t remember if these guy’s were any good mind you.
