This is the second edition of the weekly Project 52 series and this time the subject is Landscape.
Nikon D5200, Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC, ND1000 filter, ISO 100, F8, 13 secs.
This is a reservoir in the Brecon Beacons, I chose this specifically due to that tower in the left of the image as I wanted a strong foreground focal point to go with the vast expanse of water and sky that this image would naturally have. I used an ND1000 filter in order to have a relatively long exposure of 13 seconds, it wasn’t really needed for the water as it was totally still but it worked well on putting some movement into the clouds on the right of the photograph.
The sky was a bit of a problem here as although it was a reasonably overcast day when I took this the sun burst through behind me, so the left of the sky is a bit more highlighted than I would like, although this is also partly because there was a lot of mist around the peaks of the mountains in the background (you can see how the central peak appears partially clouded over).
I’m relatively happy with this attempt, I think if I’d had a decent ND Grad filter on me I could’ve handled the sky exposure a little better but in terms of subject and composure I’m pleased.
