Project 52: Week 7; Portrait – Faceless

I’ve probably gone quite clichéd on this one, after all what’s easier than doing a portrait that doesn’t show the subject’s face than concentrating on their hand’s? However I stand by it and this is what I came up with for this week.

Week 7 Portrait Faceless.jpg Olympus OM-D EM-5, 17mm M.Zuiko 1:1.8, ISO 800, F1.8, 1/50th Sec.

This is my girlfriend’s hand’s, holding a face wipe that she’s using while she’s putting on her make up. The whole idea of portrait’s that show something other than the person’s face is to “tell their story”, I think this might do that quite well. Anyone who know’s her is well aware of how long she take’s to get ready, “Jo Time” is an officially recognised phenomenon that describe’s how space-time slow’s for only her. So I think a photograph of her hand’s while she’s doing one of the thing’s that causes this rift in the space time continuum is pretty apt.
