What’s the best thing about sitting in a coffee shop next to the window? People watching of course. This selection of street photography images are all taken from the window of one of the coffee shop’s in the shopping arcade’s in Cardiff, a great place to find/watch interesting characters. All are taken on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 with 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux lens.
ISO 800, f1.4, 1/200th sec. Stopping to take a look at the wares in the sweet shop window, I like how the couple fit into this image, centrally framed, the reflective surface of the foreground blurring out any distractions and their held hand’s right in the middle of the image.
ISO 800, f1.4, 1/200th sec. Now that’s a “don’t talk to me” bod language if ever I saw it, the big dark glasses, the crossed arm.s, slightly stopped head and body shape that suggest’s quickly walking somewhere. Best not get in her way.
ISO 800, f4.5, 1/100th sec. Something tell’s me he’d like to step inside and she doesn’t. Something has caught his eye that hasn’t caught her’s, or she’s purposely ignoring.
ISO 800, f1.4, 1/320th sec. Another centrally framed character, walking with purpose, hand in pocket on something important perhaps? Or just because it’s cold out? Staring directly ahead and steamrollering past us.
ISO 800, f4.5, 1/20th sec. Of course it’s not just out the window that you can find character’s, turning around gave me this man, staring directly into the camera. What a great face, so interesting, the big moustache, the narrowed eyes, long hair, hat and jacket. At complete juxtaposition of the two young girls chatting away to the left of him.
