Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 39

Another selection of images taken around Cardiff on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 with Panasonic Leica Summilux 25mm lens.

Family Arcade.jpg IOS 800, f4.5, 1/500th sec. I like the repetition in this image,t he signs leading down the alleyway along with light fittings. The bright light shines in through the glass ceiling and cast’s very faint shadows below the figures in the foreground, the light fitting is also placed exactly above the little boy’s head between his parent’s, leading your eye down to him.

Family.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/1250th sec. Another image of a family, this time in a park. Again there is repetition and leading lines with the shadowed pattern of the fencing leading off into the couple in the distance. I like this image mostly for the pattern of those shadows.

Free Sample.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/3200th sec. A pretty busy image in terms of people but the main focus was aimed to be the two people giving out free samples of, frankly disgusting tasting, beer. The strong shadows being cast by the light is something I like to aim for as well.

Graffiti.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/500th sec. This image was supposed to be about the graffiti on the wall but with the two people stood next to it it also show’s the scale of the stadium in the background, it’s huge compared to them. I like how the top right has a right angle with the roof of the stadium and corner of the image.

Hoffi.jpg ISO 400, f1.8, 1/4000th sec. Another one that’s supposed to be all about the strong shadows, the shadow of this woman lying on the ground perfectly diagonally along with the shadow of the lamppost that’s out of shot. Then there’s also the line leading across the road to the girl dressed in black who almost fades into the shop front of the coffee shop staring at her phone.
