Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 54

Another selection of street photography images taken with my Olympus OMD EM5 around the streets of Cardiff.

Arcade Lighting.jpg 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, Iso 400, f4, 1/80th sec. Yet another image of the shopping arcades, I like the transition from shadow to light in this one, with the wet floor sign illuminated in the middle, the lights on the ceiling leading through the image and the whole feeling that the shadow is enveloping where you’re standing and being beaten away by the sunlight coming in through the glass roof further down the path.

Arcade.jpg 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux,  ISO 800, f4, 1/800th sec. Another arcade image, this time not quite as dark and shadowed as before but still leading off into the distant light  where the solo figure is illuminated.

Barrells.jpg 50mm F.Zuiko OM with adapter, ISO 400, f?, 1800th sec. I liked the patterns and shapes in this one, the railings that look like waves and the stacked barrels with the repeating rings around them.

Bollards.jpg 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 400, f4, 1/2500th sec. Another repetitive image, the bollards and shadows repeating into the distance where the two women are walking towards us.

Building.jpg 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 400, f4, 1/800th sec. I like how this one obeys the rule of thirds with the building taking up the bottom right area of the image and the big empty area of the sky in the rest. The reflective surface of the building is cool also.

Classic Pimms.jpg  50mm F.Zuiko OM with adapter, ISO 400, f?, 1/400th sec. I actually quite like how the skateboarder isn’t in focus but the sign in the bottom left is, it makes you question what the subject of the image really is? Is it him or the sign? And is that a good price for a Classic Pimms?
