Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 75

Hello there friends, another street photography posting from the streets of Cardiff. As usual all these are taken on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 with 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux lens, enjoy them.

P1010002.jpg ISO 800, f1.4, 1/320th sec. A nice bit of repetition with the leading lines of the bollards and the shallow depth of field from the wide aperture blending the distance nicely into a blur.

P1010004.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/4000th sec. This was more about capturing the bright light and contrasting shadows rather than any particular subject, however I do like the reflective lines of the pavement on the left, it reminds me of the stars in a sci fi film when travelling through hyperspace. I also like the hair of the guy to the right being blown in the breeze and the light shining through it.P1010005.jpg ISO 800, f1.4, 1/500th sec. Another repetitive image, the barrier and the flag poles drawing the eye in a curved line across the left third of the picture. I stood here specifically to capture someone framed between two of the flag poles, thankfully on a quiet day you do only get the odd one or two people at a time wandering past so this guy turned up perfectly. The river and sky to the right I think adds something good as well with the large negative space it brings.
