Welcome to edition 87 of my street photography series taken with my Olympus OM-D EM-5. Enjoy.
25mm, ISO 400, f4, 1/800th sec. I liked the shapes and straight lines on this one, how everything frames everything else. I aimed to make the two guys sat in the upstairs window the only person in the frame.
25mm, ISO 400, f4, 1/100th sec. Many of you are probably aware of my obsession with old shopping arcades, there’s something about the small independent shops, the signs, the lighting, the whole eerie quietness of them sometimes. I just enjoy them, being there and photographing them.
25mm, ISO 400, f4, 1/1250th sec. I sat down and waited here for around 20 minutes for the right people to walk out of the dark and into the light from this underpass, this man I liked for his stride and purpose that came across well in this image.
25mm, ISO 400, f4, 1/400th sec. Another image of the same underpass as above but from a different angle. Again I waited for the right people to emerge into the light, this woman had the right shape shadow for what I was looking for and happened to be in the right place for the light to hit in face perfectly. 17mm, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/400th sec. On my walk to the station to get to work, this gentleman out for a run came jogging past. This is exactly the kind of photo that I would used to say “always have a camera on you”. My favourite thing about the image however is not the man himself, but the security camera on top of the road sign that looks to be aiming directly at him as he runs past.
