As regular followers of this site may be aware across November I took a trip around Italy, travelling from Turin to Rome and stopping off in Genoa, Lucca and Florence on the way. I’ve shared a few of the images I took as and when I had the chance while I was still in Italy, and as the vast majority of the images I shot were done so on film that hasn’t yet come back from the lab, at present I don’t have a huge amount to show for it. That is except for these.
This is a small selection of images, mostly snapshots, I took while out there using my digital Olympus OMD EM5 and it’s 17mm M.Zuiko 1:1.8 lens. I will stress these are “snapshots”, the good stuff (i.e. shot on medium format film)should be available to share by the end of this week or early next week. Enjoy these for the moment.
Hello again, you may or may not be aware I am currently in Italy and have been for the past two weeks or so. What you may not be aware of is that I return to the UK in a few days time (Tuesday night to be specific), which is a ‘BOOOOO!’ moment except for the fact that it means I can get back to sharing images on here more regularly (hoorah) and start the laborious process of developing the 25 rolls or so of film that I have taken.
Anyway until I can get that lot developed here’s a few images from the trip that aren’t taken on film, these have been posted on my Instagram already but you may not look at that so here they are again, all are digital and from my Olympus OMD EM5. Enjoy.
Hello again friends and followers (or the same people). I thought I’d post another small update from my trip around Italy, if you don’t follow me on Instagram then you’ll not have seen these below. Enjoy, all taken digitally on my Olympus OMD EM5.
Buona Sera followers, friends and casual readers/viewers alike, as you may have noticed from the last week or so of lack of updates to this site I am not currently in the UK. Although if you saw my post from yesterday where I said that I wasn’t currently in the UK then you probably already know.
I am at present sat in a very nice, if slightly small, Airbnb in Lucca, Italy, having just finished my first week of travelling around this beautiful country with the dual aim of seeing places I have always wanted to see and shooting a million rolls of film at the same time. So far, so good.
I thought that I’d post up a quick update style post this evening though just so nobody thinks I’ve gone completely off the radar, and as tomorrow I will be off to my favourite city on the planet, Florence, for the next week, it seemed fitting to share an image I took the last time I was there. I’m aiming to recreate this on medium format and hopefully a much better exposure.
The sixty sixth edition of my street photography series taken with my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and also the final lot of images taken on the streets of Venezia and Firenze back in the Summer, as always please comment if you want to let me know what you think.

Welcome to another edition of my street photography series taken using my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and varying lenses, as previously these are taken during my Summer trip to Italia (I promise they are nearly over then it’s back to the streets of Cardiff for a while). Let me know your thoughts.

Another selection of street photography images taken during my trip to Italia earlier this year, much earlier this year actually as it now feels like it was a lifetime ago. Take me back to Firenze please? As usual all images are taken on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 using either 17mm M.Zuiko or 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux lenses. Enjoy.
Haven’t shared any street photography for a while, and to be honest I do have an absolute ton of it stored up on my hard drive. With that welcome to edition 60 of my street photography series taken on my Olympus OM-D EM-5, again all the images this time around are taken on my Italian trip back in the Summer, that was a while ago now, around Venezia and Firenze and taken with either my 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux of M.Zuiko 17mm lenses. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts.
OK this subject is more like it, Landscape I can do, getting high up I can do, taking landscape photo’s from high places I can do. Now whether or not they’re any good is debatable but there we go. This week’s image is taken from the top the Duomo in Firenze, Italia and gives a view of the city looking across to the River Arno and the hills of Tuscany in the distance. The Palazzo Vecchio is on the bottom right and the Piazzelle Michelangelo is dead centre on the first hill rising up on the other side of the river.
